Cookie Policy
AdConnector by AdvocatesConnect, Uganda
Last Updated: 27 March 2026 | Effective Date: 27 March 2026
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, how AdConnector (operated by AdvocatesConnect Uganda) uses them on advocates-connect.com, and the choices available to you. This policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (computer, smartphone, or tablet) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently, to remember your preferences, and to provide information to the website's owners.
Cookies set by AdConnector are called "first-party cookies". Some cookies may be set by third-party services we use (such as analytics providers), and these are "third-party cookies". We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking.
2. Cookies We Use
3. Managing & Disabling Cookies
You have several options to control how cookies are used:
Browser Settings
Most browsers allow you to refuse or delete cookies through their settings. Note that disabling cookies may impair certain features of AdConnector, including the ability to log in or maintain sessions. Below are links to cookie management guides for common browsers:
Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cannot be disabled as they are essential to core platform functionality (authentication, security, session management). You may delete them via your browser, but this will log you out of the platform.
Do Not Track (DNT)
We honour Do Not Track browser signals. If your browser has DNT enabled, we will not set non-essential analytics cookies during your session.
4. Third-Party Cookies
We use a limited number of third-party services that may set their own cookies:
| Provider | Purpose | Privacy Policy |
|---|---|---|
| PesaPal | Payment processing session management | View Policy |
| OpenStreetMap / Nominatim | Map rendering and location geocoding | View Policy |
We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any advertising network cookies.
5. Disclaimer of Liability — Cookies & Tracking
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY THE LAWS OF UGANDA:
ADVOCATESCONNECT UGANDA, ITS DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND ASSIGNS ("ADVOCATESCONNECT") EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL LIABILITY OF ANY KIND ARISING FROM OR CONNECTED TO THE USE OF COOKIES OR SIMILAR TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES ON THIS PLATFORM, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Any loss or damage resulting from your failure to configure your browser to reject or delete cookies;
- Any interception, access, or misuse of cookie data by unauthorised third parties;
- Any technical malfunction, data loss, or service degradation resulting from cookie restrictions applied by you or your device;
- Any privacy implications arising from third-party cookies set by service providers (including PesaPal and OpenStreetMap), whose cookie practices are governed by their own policies and for which AdvocatesConnect bears no responsibility whatsoever;
- Any change in platform functionality or user experience resulting from cookie management choices made by you.
IN NO EVENT SHALL THE TOTAL LIABILITY OF ADVOCATESCONNECT IN CONNECTION WITH COOKIE-RELATED CLAIMS EXCEED UGX 50,000 (FIFTY THOUSAND UGANDA SHILLINGS). THIS LIMITATION APPLIES EVEN WHERE ADVOCATESCONNECT HAS BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH LOSS OR DAMAGE.
7. Changes to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, regulatory, or operational reasons. We will notify registered users of material changes by email. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the latest revision was made.
