Terms of Service
AdConnector by AdvocatesConnect, Uganda
Last Updated: 27 March 2026 | Effective Date: 27 March 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "you", "your") and AdvocatesConnect Uganda ("Company", "we", "us", "our"), the operator of AdConnector at advocates-connect.com. By accessing or using AdConnector in any capacity — as a client, as a legal practitioner, or as a visitor — you agree to be bound by these Terms in full. If you do not agree, you must not use this platform.
1. Nature of the Platform
AdConnector is a legal practitioner directory and appointment scheduling platform. We facilitate connections between members of the public seeking legal services and independent legal practitioners who list their profiles on our platform.
⚠️ Important — We Are Not a Law Firm:
- AdConnector does NOT provide legal advice, legal representation, or legal services of any kind.
- No attorney-client relationship is created between any user and AdConnector.
- All legal services are provided exclusively by independent practitioners who are solely responsible for their conduct.
- Nothing on this platform constitutes legal advice. Always consult a qualified advocate for your specific legal matter.
2. User Accounts & Eligibility
2.1 Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account or use AdConnector. By registering, you represent and warrant that all information you provide is accurate, current, and complete.
2.2 Account Security
You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. You agree to notify us immediately at info@advocates-connect.org if you suspect any unauthorised use of your account. We are not liable for losses arising from unauthorised account access where you failed to safeguard your credentials.
2.3 One Account Per Person
Each individual may maintain only one personal account. Practitioners operating under an Enterprise plan may register multiple advocates under a single firm account as permitted by that plan's terms.
3. Practitioner Listings & Conduct
3.1 Listing Accuracy
Practitioners are solely responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and currency of their profile information, including qualifications, specializations, fees, and availability. Providing false or misleading information — including fabricated credentials, fake reviews, or misrepresentation of qualifications — is a material breach of these Terms and may result in immediate account termination and referral to the Uganda Law Council.
3.2 Uganda Law Council Compliance
All legal practitioners listed on AdConnector must be duly enrolled advocates in Uganda in good standing with the Uganda Law Council. By listing on the platform, you warrant that you hold a valid practising certificate and that you will maintain compliance with all rules of professional conduct prescribed by the Law Council and the Advocates Act (Cap 267).
3.3 Verification
AdConnector may, at its discretion, verify credentials submitted by practitioners. A "Verified" badge indicates only that we have reviewed the submitted documentation — it does not constitute a guarantee of the practitioner's competence or conduct. Users are encouraged to independently verify credentials with the Uganda Law Council.
3.4 Prohibited Content
Practitioners may not include in their profiles: false testimonials, fabricated case outcomes, misleading success rates, competitor disparagement, solicitation of prohibited business, or any content that violates Ugandan law or the Advocates (Professional Conduct) Regulations.
4. Subscriptions & Payments
4.1 Subscription Plans
Practitioner listings are available on subscription plans (Basic, Professional, Premium, Enterprise) as described on the Plans page. Plan features and pricing are subject to change with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers.
4.2 Payment Processing
All payments are processed via PesaPal, a licensed payment service provider. By making a payment, you also agree to PesaPal's terms and privacy policy. AdConnector does not store payment card details or mobile money PINs.
4.3 Billing Cycles
Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually in advance. Annual subscriptions attract a 20% discount. Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date.
4.4 Refund Policy
Subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by Ugandan consumer protection law. If you believe you have been charged in error, contact us within 7 days of the charge at listings@advocates-connect.com.
4.5 Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. Your listing will remain active until that date.
5. Client Conduct
As a client user of AdConnector, you agree to:
- Use the platform only to seek genuine legal services.
- Provide accurate information when booking appointments.
- Not harass, defame, or threaten practitioners through the platform.
- Not submit false, misleading, or malicious reviews.
- Not use the platform to solicit practitioners for illegal purposes.
- Conduct your own due diligence before engaging any practitioner.
- Never send money to any practitioner without a written retainer agreement.
6. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
6.1 Platform Disclaimer
The platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses.
6.2 No Liability for Practitioner Conduct
ABSOLUTE DISCLAIMER — PRACTITIONER CONDUCT:
ADVOCATESCONNECT UGANDA EXPRESSLY AND IRREVOCABLY DISCLAIMS, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY THE LAWS OF UGANDA, ALL LIABILITY OF EVERY KIND AND NATURE — WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT, NEGLIGENCE, STRICT LIABILITY, EQUITY, STATUTE, OR OTHERWISE — ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO:
- Any act, omission, advice, representation, negligence, misconduct, fraud, malpractice, or breach of professional duty by any practitioner listed on AdConnector;
- Any legal services rendered, or failed to be rendered, by any practitioner to any client;
- Any financial loss, personal injury, emotional distress, reputational harm, or any other loss or damage suffered by any client as a result of engaging, or failing to engage, any listed practitioner;

- Any failure of a practitioner to hold a valid practising certificate or to comply with the Advocates Act (Cap 267) or the rules of the Uganda Law Council.
YOUR ENGAGEMENT WITH ANY PRACTITIONER IS ENTIRELY AT YOUR OWN RISK. ADVOCATESCONNECT UGANDA IS A DIRECTORY PLATFORM ONLY AND BEARS NO RESPONSIBILITY WHATSOEVER FOR THE CONDUCT OR COMPETENCE OF ANY LISTED PRACTITIONER.
6.3 Comprehensive Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY UGANDAN LAW:
ADVOCATESCONNECT UGANDA, ITS DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, SHAREHOLDERS, AGENTS, CONTRACTORS, SUCCESSORS, AND ASSIGNS (COLLECTIVELY "ADVOCATESCONNECT") SHALL NOT BE LIABLE TO ANY USER, PRACTITIONER, CLIENT, OR THIRD PARTY FOR ANY:
- Direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, aggravated, or punitive damages;
- Loss of profits, revenue, business, contracts, anticipated savings, data, goodwill, or reputation;

- Loss arising from fraud, misrepresentation, or criminal conduct by any platform user;
- Loss arising from force majeure events including acts of God, government action, civil unrest, or telecommunications failures.
IN THE EVENT THAT ADVOCATESCONNECT IS FOUND LIABLE NOTWITHSTANDING THE FOREGOING DISCLAIMER, THE TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY OF ADVOCATESCONNECT TO ANY SINGLE USER FOR ALL CLAIMS IN AGGREGATE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE LESSER OF: (A) THE TOTAL SUBSCRIPTION FEES ACTUALLY PAID BY THAT USER IN THE THREE (3) CALENDAR MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM; OR (B) UGX 500,000 (FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND UGANDA SHILLINGS). THIS CAP APPLIES REGARDLESS OF THE FORM OF ACTION, LEGAL THEORY, OR BASIS OF CLAIM.
6.4 Indemnification
You agree to fully indemnify, defend, and hold harmless AdvocatesConnect Uganda, its directors, officers, employees, shareholders, and agents (the "Indemnified Parties") from and against any and all claims, demands, actions, proceedings, losses, liabilities, damages, judgments, penalties, fines, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees on a full indemnity basis) incurred by the Indemnified Parties arising from or relating to: (a) your breach of these Terms or any applicable law; (b) your use or misuse of the platform; (c) any content you submit, post, or transmit via the platform; (d) your interactions with other users; or (e) any third-party claim that your conduct or content infringes any right. This indemnification obligation shall survive termination of your account and these Terms.
7. Intellectual Property
All content on AdConnector — including the AdConnector brand, logo, platform design, software, databases, and editorial content — is the exclusive property of AdvocatesConnect Uganda and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable intellectual property laws of Uganda.
Practitioners retain ownership of the content they upload to their profiles (bio, photos, case studies, etc.) but grant AdConnector a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, reproduce, and distribute that content on the platform for the purpose of operating the directory service.
You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any platform content without our prior written consent.
8. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate any account, with or without notice, for:
- Breach of these Terms or our policies.
- Fraudulent, deceptive, or illegal activity.
- Complaints upheld against a practitioner by the Uganda Law Council.
- Non-payment of subscription fees.
- Any conduct we deem harmful to other users or the reputation of the platform.
Upon termination, your right to access the platform ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including disclaimers, limitations of liability, and indemnification) shall survive.
9. Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Uganda. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Uganda, with the High Court of Uganda at Kampala having primary jurisdiction.
Before initiating formal legal proceedings, parties agree to attempt good-faith resolution through written notice to info@advocates-connect.org followed by a 30-day negotiation period.
10. Amendments
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated to registered users by email at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of the platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must discontinue use and may cancel your subscription for a pro-rata refund of any prepaid fees.
